Ibrahim Hasan, Solicitor and Director, Act Now
Ibrahim Hasan is a recognised expert on data protection, freedom of information and surveillance law. He writes for the Law Society Gazette as well as other professional journals and is an occasional guest lecturer on the University of Northumbria's LLM in Information Rights Law. Ibrahim was recently made an Honorary Fellow of the Information and Records Management Society.
Paul Simpkins, Director, Act Now
Paul has worked in Data Protection and associated legislation since 1990 and has worked for two of the largest councils in the UK as a Data Protection Officer. He has spoken at National and International Conferences on the subject and is moderator of the Jiscmail Data Protection Bulletin Board.
Paul Gibbons
Paul is an expert in information rights law especially the Freedom of Information Act. He worked for the UK Parliament as Parliamentary Records Manager. Following this, he worked for the London Mayor, a London Healthcare Trust and the University of London. He is well known in the UK public sector and beyond for his FOI Man blog, and is regularly invited to speak and write about information rights matters.
Frank Rankin
Frank Rankin has over 20 years' experience as an information governance practitioner. He currently works in NHS Scotland and has previously implemented records management programmes and led on FOI and Data Protection compliance in central and local government organisations. A former chair of the NHS Scotland FOI forum and member of the Scottish Records Advisory Council, Frank has designed and delivered pragmatic training in FOI, Privacy and Records Management across a range of sectors.
Steve Morris
Steve Morris is a former detective police officer with experience in investigation, intelligence management, and internet research. Steve delivers investigation and intelligence management courses to law enforcement and other agencies. With 14 years experience of training local authority personnel.
Lynn Wyeth
Lynn Wyeth is the Head of the Information Governance function of a large unitary public authority and has over 10 years' experience as a practitioner. She holds a post graduate diploma in Information Rights and the CISMP certificate, and is an accredited HSCIPP privacy practitioner.
Philip Jones
Philip Jones has 32 years information management experience in public and private sector organisations both as a practitioner and at a senior management level. He is a history graduate and holds both a masters degree in information management and an MBA. His wide range of practical experience has involved working in the areas of information legislation, information security and electronic document and records management and most recently GDPR.
Paul Couldrey
Paul is the former Head of Information Governance for NHS Central Midlands Commissioning Support Unit, which supported 10 CCGs. Paul has been involved in IG since 1991 whilst working for the West Midlands Police as a compliance officer and has managed IG at a senior level in law enforcement, local authorities and the NHS. Paul is qualified in information law at Masters level, and has spoken at numerous national conferences in regards to Governance. He was also the Black Country contributor to the Latest Caldicott Review (Caldicott 2) published in June 2013.
Iain Harrison
Iain brings 15 years of experience in delivering consultancy, advice and guidance in information law-related topics to a variety of public, private and voluntary organisations. In addition to his day-job, Iain continues to deliver training and consultancy on information law issues to a variety of public-sector, third sector and private clients. The GDPR, both planning for and implementation, is his main current focus, and he has recently worked with voluntary organisations, schools and the health sector to deliver training, consultancy and an occasional lifeline!
Scott Sammons
Scott is an experienced information governance practitioner having worked in both the public and private sector for 10 years, most recently as the GDPR implementation lead for Essex County Council and now currently a freelance consultant. Scott holds certificates in Data Protection and Freedom of Information, is an accredited member of the IRMS and a Fellow of the Institute of Information Management Africa. Scott contributes frequently to guidance and awareness of information related matters via blogging as well as volunteering for the IRMS running events and developing materials for information professionals. Scott has been training for almost 10 years and has been certified in Neuro-Linguistic Programming to assist with ensuring content and delivery style are as best suited to the audience as possible.
