The Act Now Certificate in Information Governance is the ideal qualification for those working in an IG team. It is designed to give delegates a solid foundation in information laws (incl. GDPR and FOI) and best practice as they apply to the health and social care sector.

Who should attend?

There are no pre-requisites for this course. It is suitable for experienced IG staff who need to prove their competence, through a formal qualification, as well as new IG staff who need to know about important IG concepts and legislation. The following will particularly benefit from this course:

Course Tutor

Paul Couldrey is the former Head of Information Governance for NHS Central Midlands Commissioning Support Unit, which supported 10 CCGs. Paul has been involved in IG since 1991 whilst working for the West Midlands Police as a compliance officer and has managed IG at a senior level in law enforcement, local authorities and the NHS. Paul is qualified in information law at Masters level, and has spoken at numerous national conferences. He was also the Black Country contributor to the latest Caldicott Review (Caldicott 2) published in June 2013.
