All teachers and education professionals in schools need to have an understanding of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Both place obligations on schools to protect and give access to information. These obligations cannot be passed on to the LEA. Plans for VLEs and Parent Portals need to take this legislation into account. This course will take you through the basics of both Acts and give you an action plan for compliance. |
