Course Description

Next year (25th May 2018) the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will replace the Data Protection Act 1998.

Your school will be affected by this law. It will change the way you manage and disclose personal data in your school including student's data, personnel records, CCTV images and handwritten notes.
GDPR introduces new provisions such as reporting data breaches and enhanced data subject rights.

The penalty for non compliance will be as much as 20 million euros (or four percent of annual global turnover, in the case of undertakings).

In this webinar we will look at the key requirements of the legislation using examples directly relevant to schools.

Topics include: The GDPR Principles including Accountability, New definition of personal data, Rights of individuals, Subject Access Requests, New Rights, Privacy Notices, Images and video recordings etc.

The fee includes online materials, a test and a certificate. The course carries 1 CPD credit.
