ONLINE - The Data Protection Bill 2017

The Data Protection Bill, published in September 2017, is an important milestone on the journey to implementing the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The Bill deals with all the GDPR derogations and changes that the UK government is entitled to make, and has significant effects on the processing of Special Categories Data (i.e. sensitive data under the DPA), exemptions from the normal GDPR rules, and the use of criminal records data. It also implements the Law Enforcement Directive for criminal investigations and prosecutions, creates a specific DP framework for the Intelligence Services, and confirms arrangements for the ICO’s powers and enforcement regime.

This webinar will guide you through the new Bill, how it impacts the GDPR as well as other legislation.

The fee includes online materials, a test and a certificate. The course carries 1 CPD credit.
