Public authorities are encouraged to adopt internal review or complaints procedures to deal with situations where applicant under FOI are unhappy with the response that they receive. Internal reviews are not a statutory requirement, but they do have a significant value to applicants and to public authorities alike. For one thing, they allow a second bite of the cherry before complaints are made to the Information Commissioner. In this webinar we will look at best practice for the conduct of internal reviews, how to make them effective, and how to reduce the likelihood of a (successful) complaint to the Information Commissioner.
